Walt Disney Concert Hall

Frank Gehry’s Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao blew me away when I first saw it many years ago. The Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, his hometown, is just as spectacular. I’m glad I was able to lead a sketching tour here.

During the tour, I demonstrated sketching the building from a few different street corners where the shade protected us from the scorching sun. We also walked through the beautiful Blue Ribbon Garden. It wraps around the building and features a fountain that Frank Gehry designed in honor of Walt Disney’s widow, Lillian. She donated $50 million for the construction of the otherworldly concert hall.
