Urban Sketching demo of the Neptune Fountain in Berlin

On Sept. 19, I gave an urban sketching tour/demo at the Neptune Fountain near Alexanderplatz in Berlin. This striking baroque-revival fountain is one of the places I visited in Berlin Sept. 1990, just a few days before Germany’s reunification following the fall of the Berlin Wall 10 months earlier.

I stood closer to the fountain the day before to make this practice sketch in my pocket sketchbook. The higher eye level allowed me to sketch the pool of water.

My sketcher friend @surrey_sketches helped me recreate a photo of much-younger-me from back then and also did a fabulous sketch of me. Thanks Detlef!
