In 2007 I started an online group where users could share what I considered to be “urban sketches,’ then a blog of invited “artists-correspondents” and then an educational nonprofit, @urbansketchers, that has sparked a sketching movement with more than 500 chapters all over the world.
On Sept. 25, I shared how and why I felt compelled to kickstart this awesome creative community to a room full of @uskbarcelona members at @cctorrellobeta.

Before the talk, we all drew the historic building that houses the community center while kids animated the scene kicking a soccer ball with great skill.

Special thanks to @eduardo.vicente.7370 (above) and @elibiosca, who jumped to organize the event on very short notice with that contagious enthusiasm and generous spirit that characterizes our sketching community.
