Sketching Climate Pledge Arena

38-degrees is colder than usual in Seattle this time of the year. But I came well-equipped with my finger-less gloves to join the @uskseattle sketch outing at Seattle Center this afternoon. I also warmed up a bit walking all around @climatepledgearena before finding the point of view for my sketch. The venue, originally designed by architect Paul Thiry for the 1962 Seattle World’s Fair, is one of Seattle’s most beloved architectural treasures. It was fully remodeled inside just a few years ago to create a larger sports arena for the @seattlekraken hockey team. But its graceful street-level footprint, imposing pillars and iconic rooftop remain as eye-catching as ever.
