I and fellow Seattle urban sketchers are taking part in a cool event Saturday: the 50th Anniversary Party of Seattle’s Freeway Park.
Often described as an urban oasis in the heart of downtown, the park serves as a lid that covers Interstate 5 and reconnects neighborhoods split in half when the freeway was built. I love the brutalist-era architecture, especially the maze near Seneca Plaza where water cascades amid the concrete. It’s a great spot to grasp the concept of perspective.
