Welcome!
I’m a Spanish-American artist, author and journalist based in Seattle.
Drawing from life is the backbone of my work. I aim to capture a sense of place and time in my community and everywhere I travel. My pocket sketchbook is my most trusted tool.
As a visual journalist, my newspaper column, Seattle Sketcher, appeared in The Seattle Times from 2009 to 2021 and was the subject of a five-month solo exhibit at the Museum of History and Industry in 2014.
As the founder of Urban Sketchers, I have taught and spoken about art and journalism at numerous events in the U.S. and abroad.
Email me at gabi@sketcherpress.com if you’d like to discuss a project or collaborate.
